Land Army harvest · Mid-August 2026
The Leiston Land Army brings people together to grow food and develop a shared community allotment. A single harvest can include a wonderful range of produce — and every crop represents the time and care people have put into the site.
In its first year, the allotment grew the equivalent of 6,208 five-a-day portions. Alongside the harvest, the work has involved building the growing space itself: beds, paths and the infrastructure that helps people take part.

Coastal Building Supplies delivered topsoil and timber for the raised beds. Freedom, an NG Bailey Group company, donated the woodchip used at the allotment. These practical contributions help turn plans into a place where growing can happen.
Growing together is about food, but also learning, sharing skills and finding a useful way to spend time with others. There is work behind every harvest, and we are grateful to the volunteers and supporters helping the allotment develop.
